In Ostend, John Cockerill’s wind turbine maintenance expertise has the wind in its sails
March 30th 2024
Present at the Belgian Offshore Days on March 27 and 28, our wind turbine maintenance experts took advantage of this event in Ostend to welcome representatives of some twenty companies from Dunkirk and the Hauts de France region to present our activities and discuss future offshore projects in the North Sea and on the Atlantic coast.
The visit (organized by Eoliennes en Mer de Dunkerque, under the aegis of EDF Renewables, in collaboration with the Communauté Urbaine de Dunkerque and the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie Littoral Hauts de France) was an opportunity to discover our offshore wind farm maintenance base in the port of Ostend.
Our specialists explained the current offshore operations in Belgium, the wind farm developments that have just begun, the conditions under which maintenance operations are carried out on wind turbines, and the vital importance of risk management and safety in this specific environment. Our teams were also pleased to welcome representatives from our customer Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, who presented their offshore wind energy activities in the BeNeLux area, including the location of wind farms, maintenance bases and activities, logistics resources and their partners and subcontractors.
The delegation then went on to the Belgian Offshore Days, a B2B event dedicated to the offshore industry that brings together wind power professionals, where for two days our specialists presented our wide range of services that help improve the reliability, performance and availability of wind farms.
Our experts met with all the major players in the wind energy industry and explained the types of maintenance operations our Group carries out: scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, fault-finding and component replacement, troubleshooting, commissioning, reliability and availability analysis, post-evaluation, component repair, blade inspection and more.
John Cockerill proudly supports industry and local authorities in their energy transition projects with large-scale technological solutions.
