CMI Services modernizes Stora Enso biomass boiler (Gent, Belgium)
June 03rd 2013
CMI Services has seen itself mandated by Stora Enso with the modernization of the biomass boiler at its paper recycling and production plant at Langerbrugge (Gent, Belgium). The work to be carried out by CMI Services will essentially concentrate on the superheater and evaporation unit of this boiler. It will begin in June 2013 and take four weeks. This revamping is being undertaken by CMI Services Energy North, one of the Business Units of CMI Services, experts in industrial boilers.
This boiler is fed by biomass pulp which is made from a mixture of the waste materials from the Stora Enso ink cleansing installation and wood waste. With its capacity of 65 tons of steam per hour, it constitutes a key element for the profitability of the Stora Enso Langerbrugge site, for which electricity purchase prices are now critical.
