A new wastewater treatment plant for Avieta, one of the world’s leading producers of Belgian waffles
August 17th 2023
A commitment for the future. To treat wastewater, reduce water consumption and avoid external transport and treatment, John Cockerill has designed and commissioned the new treatment plant for Avieta, one of the world leaders in the production of Belgian waffles.
As a responsible company, Avieta works continuously to reduce its ecological footprint. The investment in its new industrial wastewater treatment and sludge dehydration/liming facility to optimize its treatment process, is a prominent example of this commitment.
An installation up to the task
The new treatment plant supplied by John Cockerill Environment’s Belgian entity John Cockerill Balteau, is treating the client’s wastewater in the most efficient and adapted way, allowing it to reach its performance objectives. The installation is made up of a lifting pit with screening at the entrance, a buffer tank equipped with pumps, a rotating sieve ensuring fine screening, a flotation unit with grease recovery pit, a balancing basin, and our bioreactor: BeFlow SBR (SBR = Sequencing Batch Reactor).
BeFlow SBR: an all-in-one bioreactor for a purification yield of up to 99%
Particularly suitable when it comes to managing intermittent or low flow rates such as those encountered in industrial installations, this type of compact and energy-efficient reactor allows efficient and stable wastewater treatment. A plus for the environment the treated water is discharged to.
Congratulations to our teams for this great achievement and thank you to the client for having entrusted us with the entire scope of work, including the complete annual management of the site for two consecutive years.
