John Cockerill India welcomes Urjit Patel as Independent Director

Mr. Urjit Patel, former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India and Consultant to the Indian Ministry of Finance, joined John Cockerill India as an Independent Director, reflecting the Group’s ambition to further grow its position on the Indian sub-continent
Ex-Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Urjit Patel has been appointed as an Independent Director of John Cockerill India for a period of 5 years starting from April 1, 2021. Before serving as the 24th Reserve Bank of India Governor for 2 years, until December 2018, he was the Deputy Governor in charge of monetary policy for 4 years. Currently, Dr. Patel is the Chairman of the Governing Body of the National Institute of Public Finance & Policy and serves on the Investment Advisory Committee of the Army Group Insurance.
Urjit Patel worked in the private sector, and in the infrastructure & energy spheres for 15 years prior to public service. He has participated in numerous official task forces & high-level committees and has also been a Consultant to the Indian Ministry of Finance.
