Diving inside a John Cockerill Hamon cooling tower at the Belleville nuclear power plant
September 28th 2023
At John Cockerill, we’re proud to be part of the transition to more sustainable energy. Our John Cockerill Hamon teams, who specialise in cooling systems, recently organised a visit to the Belleville-sur-Loire nuclear power plant to show our commitment and expertise in action.
In close partnership with EDF, we are working to maintain and improve the plant’s equipment, producing carbon-free electricity that fully meets the needs of the Centre-Val de Loire region. Our cooling towers, with their innovative cell structures, guarantee optimum cooling of the water, which is essential for the plant’s operation and safety.
John Cockerill Hamon stands out for its multidisciplinary skills in the design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and maintenance of highly specialised cooling systems. These systems play a crucial role in cooling the water and condensing the steam generated by power plants, particularly nuclear power plants.
Our Group has thus strengthened its presence at the Belleville nuclear power plant, where John Cockerill Services‘ nuclear experts have been maintaining the site and carrying out valve operations for several years.
Congratulations and thanks to the teams on site for their unfailing commitment. Their regular interventions make nuclear power plants safer and more efficient, enabling them to play a major role in the energy transition and security of supply. As a proud partner of EDF, a key player in the energy sector, John Cockerill would like to thank its client’s teams for making this visit possible and, more generally, for the close collaboration.
