CMI honoured at the 11th award ceremony for the Belgian Environment and Energy Awards
June 06th 2016
CMI was honoured for the design of a thermo-solar receiver with direct steam generation, like that installed at the Khi Solar One site in South Africa. The Upington power station has been commissioned and is producing the planned 50 MW. CMI therefore received the award for innovation in business (Business Product Innovation Award). This award honours a business that has marketed a product or service innovation contributing to protection of the environment, energy savings and/or protection of natural resources in its use or manufacture.
The Belgian Environment and Energy Awards were designed to promote initiatives aiming to ensure a sustainable future, focused on environmental protection, reduction of energy costs and promotion of renewable energies. This event highlighted major developments by businesses as well as individual initiatives.
This event, under the patronage of His Majesty the King, was held in the presence of Prince Laurent and representatives of the political, economic, and scientific world, community organisations and the press.
This award demonstrates that CMI can adapt its technologies as a function of climate change, and illustrates its strategy of diversification in the area of renewable energies.
