John Cockerill Defense reaffirms to Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defence delegation its commitment to strengthening cooperation with Viettel on advanced land defence systems for global markets.
Within the framework of the Vietnamese State Visit to Belgium led by H.E. To Lam, General Secretary and President of Vietnam, John Cockerill’s CEO Jean-Luc Maurange met with a delegation from the Ministry of National Defence headed by H.E. General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence of Vietnam.
On this occasion, Viettel and John Cockerill Defense exchanged an expanded Framework Partnership Agreement (FPA) in the presence of H.E. General Phan Van Giang, opening the way to broader cooperation opportunities. John Cockerill also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening long-term industrial, technological and defence cooperation with Viettel, particularly in the land defense sector, with a view to serving global markets.
This cooperation builds on the partnership agreement signed between the two companies in May 2025 on the occasion of the French President’s State Visit to Vietnam, which established a framework for the development, production and marketing of advanced land defence systems.
