The award-winning Yajva project, « Best Energy Project » of 2012.

June 24th 2013

The combined cycle power plant project of Yajva, Russia, won an award in early June from ENR, the Engineering News Record. The Turkish EPC ENKA, partner of CMI, received the award for best project for its exemplary management.

This project, for which CMI Energy has designed and supplied a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG), involved the creation of a 400 MW combined cycle in Siberia.

This project was carried out to perfection despite extreme conditions: a location far from everything, difficult to access, and with winter temperatures down to -50° C. Roads were built,  it was necessary to strengthen bridges to carry the equipment, and to use partially frozen waterways. The Russian language and technical requisitions such as, in particular, the obligation to comply with GOST-R, were impediments. One of the judges highlighted the innovative direction and design excellence of this plant. CMI welcomes the success with which it was largely involved.
