John Cockerill has installed four electrolyzers at the HyOffWind site
April 29th 2026
What a massive electrolyzer! And four of them are now installed at HyOffWind, in the Port of Zeebrugge. A key milestone that reflects months of intense coordination across teams and partners.
Today, 25 MW of electrolysis capacity is physically in place, with the first compression equipment already on site. The next steps will focus on system integration, remaining compression packages, connections and testing.
Once operational, HyOffWind is expected to produce up to 3,700 tonnes of green hydrogen per year and contribute to an annual CO₂ reduction of 25,000 tonnes, roughly comparable to the yearly emissions of ~5,400 passenger cars.
Big thanks to our teams on site for their focus and safe execution, and also to Virya Energy, Messer Benelux, Hyoffgreen, BESIX and BESIX Environment for the joint progress.
