CMI will provide 8 boilers at Arbeel (Iraq)
May 08th 2012
CMI Energy has won an order for 8 Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) for the new combined cycle power plant (CCPP) at Arbeel (Iraq). The contract was signed with the Turkish EPC Enka. The end client is the Jordanian company Mass Global Investment (MGI).
The contract covers the design, supply, supervision of assembly, and commissioning of 8 dual-pressure vertical boilers installed behind GE 9E turbines.
The Arbeel power plant, now operating in open cycle, will be converted into a combined cycle facility, which will become Iraq’s first combined cycle power plant. The conversion should add 500 MW to the plant’s nominal existing output of 1000 MW.
