CMI takes a stake in the capital of Xylowatt.

February 27th 2014

On February 5th 2014, CMI Group (Cockerill Maintenance & Ingénierie) and Air Liquide took a stake in the capital of Xylowatt, a company active in clean gas solutions from biomass and waste materials. This transaction is completed by cooperation agreements for the industrialisation of Xylowatt’s NOTAR® solution, which involves the production of clean gas from biomass and waste materials, through processes of air and oxygen gasification.

CMI has engineering, project management and technical capacities and skills which complement the functional skills of Xylowatt in gasification. Their multiple skills will be able to be deployed to optimise the NOTAR® solution and operate it at an industrial level.

Jean Jouet, CMI Group Chief Technology Officer: “The Xylowatt technology completes our offering of environmental solutions. We are already active in energy efficiency, in the treatment of liquids, gas and certain solid materials. Making use of waste material to produce energy clearly forms part of the challenges which motivate us”.
