CMI acquires Europe Environnement

CMI acquires Europe Environnement.

December 17th 2013

On December 16th Belgian Group CMI acquired 99.4% of the shares in French company Europe Environnement, a specialist in air and gas treatment systems. Europe Environnement had until this time been part of the Europlasma Group. Through this operation, CMI is expanding its environmental solutions offering, which already includes the treatment of liquid industrial effluents and solid waste, along with the energy efficiency of industrial installations.

Based at Aspach-le-Haut in the Upper Rhine (Alsace, France), Europe Environnement is a specialist in the design and manufacture of industrial ventilation and air de-pollution equipment (treatment of corrosive, toxic and smelly gases). In order to supply turnkey systems for the de-pollution of gaseous industrial rejects, Europe Environnement principally calls on four areas of expertise: ventilation, chemical and biological engineering, energy recovery and plastic boilermaking.

Europe Environnement becomes part of CMI Industry, one of the four sectors of the CMI Group. Jean-Marc Kohlgruber, Director General of CMI Industry: “Our environmental solutions aim to drastically reduce the environmental footprint of our industrial clients. They are based around two main axes: energy efficiency and waste treatment. We already handle the treatment of solid waste with our multiple hearth furnaces (The Nesa Solutions), and that of liquid industrial effluents with ’Proserpol’ solutions. The acquisition of Europe Environnement and the integration of its gaseous industrial rejects solutions fit in perfectly with our strategic ambitions. This opens up numerous perspectives for synergy with our chemical, thermal and mechanical  expertise. I would like to wish a personal welcome to the personnel of Europe Environnement, to our organisation. We will do everything we can so that they will bloom and develop here within a win-win relationship”.

Pierre Catlin, President of Europlasma : “We are delighted to hand over the reins of Europe Environnement to an industrial concern with an ambitious project. The clear synergies and the complementary nature of the offerings of Europe Environnement and the CMI Group represent a guarantee of success and growth for this activity. We wish a bright future to Europe Environnement under its new colours, those of the CMI Group”.
