Boosting Belgium’s green transition with our renewable energy system at the Frameries Lock’O site

May 09th 2025
John Cockerill has achieved a significant milestone at the Frameries Lock’O site site in Belgium: the installation of its integrated renewable energy system has successfully passed Industrial Acceptance. The microgrid supplied by John Cockerill to the Pardis real estate group is now operational.
At the end of 2023, John Cockerill was awarded a contract to install an integrated renewable energy system at the Pardis site of Frameries. The project encompassed the design, delivery, and turnkey installation of a comprehensive energy system, including:
- 1.5 MWp of Rooftop Photovoltaic Panels
- a 2.5 MW / 5 MWh alternative current Li-ion battery
- 13 alternative current electric charging stations, each with a capacity of 2 x 11 kW
- one direct current electric fast-charging station with a capacity of 2 x 100 kW.
All these components are controlled by the Energy Management System (EMS) developed by the John Cockerill teams. This EMS leverages complex algorithms to optimize asset performance, ensuring maximum efficiency and profitability of the installation.
John Cockerill is proud to carry out this project for the Pardis group and contribute thereof to Belgium’s energy transition. John Cockerill is committed to helping its clients in their efforts to decarbonize their activities and enhance reliable, sustainable and cost-effective production.
