On December 8th, 2023, Ambassadors and Representatives from 16 countries of the Americas were proposed by the Wallonia Export & Investment Agency to visit John Cockerill, as industrial and economic flagship of Wallonia.

As introductory words to this meeting of prestige, Pascale Delcomminette, CEO AWEX and WBI, and Déborah Géradon, Mayor of Seraing, emphasized the important role of a Group such as John Cockerill, of the international development, and of the assets of the regional and local area for attracting investors.

The invitees could enjoy the presentation of Michel Vanhaesbroucke, our Chief Strategy Officer and Business Development, proposing a great travel from 1817 to nowadays, before giving a focus on our large-scale technological solutions for energy transition, on the activities of our Businesses, and on the Group look towards the future. Carina Sutera Sardo, our Deputy Vice President Legal & Sales and Head of Trade & Export Finance, gave afterwards a complementary overview about our strength in proposing financing solutions for enabling the implementation of projects. Full answers to questions and mention of strategic program in their region made the diplomatic delegation quite enthusiastic.

These discussions were followed by a lunch in our “Grande Galerie” and a visit of our historical premises. A professional guide made the tour incredibly magical, the participants really enjoyed hearing John Cockerill talking. At final, the participants were quite delighted, astonished by the past, present and the future of John Cockerill. They would be all keen to hold bilateral meetings with John Cockerill for considering our needs and opportunities.

Our Group thanks the Ambassadors and Representatives of Argentina, Bahamas, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Grenade, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname and Uruguay, for their visit.
