GE Energy Products France has awarded CMI Energy the design and supply of a new horizontal boiler (Heat Recovery Steam Generator). It will be installed behind the new generation of GE gas turbines for an EDF (Electricité de France) combined cycle power plant (CCPP) in Bouchain (France).

CMI Energy has developed an optimized boiler design to meet the demand for flexibility of this revolutionary combined cycle concept called FlexEfficiency 50. Proposed by GE in partnership with EDF, it will make the Bouchain plant the most innovative in Europe by 2015. With a capacity of 510 MW, this single shaft FE 50 cycle achieves a thermal efficiency of over 60%. The plant is of unrivaled flexibility and is also designed to promote the integration of natural gas, solar, and wind energy in the same complex. This world first improves flexibility, startup times, and standardization of cycles.

CMI Energy is proud that its technology has been chosen to be part of this important project.
