Making Senegal cooler and more autonomous with the supply of a new air-cooled condenser

July 10th 2025
John Cockerill has been awarded a contract by NDAR Energies, a subsidiary of Aksa Global Investments (part of the Aksa Enerji Group), for the design and supply of an Air-Cooled Condenser. This Hamon air-cooled condenser, comprising 15 modules, will be installed at the 255 MW combined cycle power plant in Gandon, Saint-Louis, northern Senegal.
Expected to begin commercial operations by 2026, the plant will be the first in Senegal to generate electricity using domestic natural gas. Featuring both gas and steam turbines, the facility is designed for maximum efficiency. A dedicated gas pipeline will also be constructed to supply fuel. By incorporating combined cycle gas turbine technology, this project will help drive more efficient energy production in Senegal.
Our Group looks forward to contributing to this important step toward a more sustainable energy future.
