John Cockerill has received the Provisional Acceptance Certificate for the integrated energy system deployed at the Ets JOSKIN’s site in Soumagne (Liège, Belgium).

John Cockerill has equipped the Ets JOSKIN’s industrial site with a whole system composed of 3800 photovoltaic panels, 3 storage batteries units, and 26 charging stations for electric vehicles. The so-named JOSKIN ECO-POWER STATIONS are managed and controlled by the Energy Management System (EMS) developed by John Cockerill. Its role is to maximize benefits for the Ets JOSKIN in a value stacking approach, combining enhanced auto-consumption and new revenue streams generated from grid services. The EMS determines the best moment to charge or discharge the batteries, according to parameters such as electricity demand, climatic conditions, energy market price of energy, …

John Cockerill’s system allows the Ets JOSKIN to use a cutting-edge energy system, enabling them to maximize consumption of their own electricity production and contribute to ELIA’s grid stabilization. The system contributes to stability and balance within the electricity grid, aligning with real-time supply and demand. Additionally, any surplus electricity produced can be redistributed back to the grid.

Developed by John Cockerill, these innovative green energy solutions —encompassing production, storage, and energy recovery— integrate seamlessly with industrial operations. They mitigate the intermittency of renewable energy production, create new revenue streams from grid services, and significantly reduce energy bills while decarbonizing activities.

We would like to thank the Ets JOSKIN for their confidence in our products and solutions. And a special thanks to the John Cockerill project team for their dedication and excellence in project execution. With this project, we can be very proud to contribute to the decarbonization of Wallonia, helping to energize and brighten our future.
