John Cockerill has been awarded a major contract by Petrobras for the supply and assembly of a new Hamon® cooling tower and the replacement of an existing one at the Henrique Lage Refinery (REVAP), located in São José dos Campos (Brazil). The long-standing commercial relationship between John Cockerill Serviços Brasil and Petrobras, built on numerous maintenance services carried out by our teams, made this order possible. Our Cooling and Services teams combined their expertise to offer a full scope solution to the client, making this new order the first joint project by both entities in Latin America.

John Cockerill will handle the replacement of an existing a 5-cell cooling tower (3,000 m³/h) and the construction of a 4-cell cooling tower (2,400 m³/h), both operating in atmospheric and vacuum distillation units. While our Cooling experts will oversee engineering and material supply, our Services team will manage pre-assembly in our workshop in Macaé, on-site erection, and commissioning of the equipment.

As John Cockerill expands our cooling solutions in LATAM, the close collaboration between our teams proved decisive in securing this highly competitive public tender. By combining our strengths, John Cockerill stood out as the only technically qualified company, surpassing all competitors. This shared expertise not only strengthens our ability to deliver comprehensive, high-value solutions but also reinforces our Group’s position in Latin America’s dynamic and promising market.
