Heat Treatment Furnaces: CMI Industry partners with aeronautics and nuclear
June 23rd 2014
CMI Industry in late 2014 will provide a new heat treatment furnace at the Advanced Forming Research Center (AFRC). Located in Glasgow (Scotland), the AFRC was founded by, among others, such global aerospace giants as Boeing and Rolls Royce, our client Aubert & Duval, and the University of Strathclyde.
Developed by CMI Industry, this high-technology heat treatment furnace will enable the AFRC to accomplish different combustion tests. The objectives: to develop methods of fabrication and develop new metal processing techniques, to improve the performance of parts especially those entering into the makeup of aviation projects.
In addition, CMI Industry has been chosen by Areva for the modernizing of the heat treatment line of CEZUS Rugles (Eure, France), dedicated to zirconium metallurgy. CMI intervention will increase the performance of the line, especially at the cooling chamber. CMI Industry is supporting the design and implementation of this modernization and relies on teams from CMI Services for dismantling and reassembly of equipment. The upgraded line will begin in August, 2014.
These two recent contracts with major customers again illustrate the ability of CMI Industry to provide tailor-made solutions of high-value-added technology.
