Eight years at sea and our boilers are still impeccable: that’s’ the conclusion our Aftersales experts recently made after carrying out inspections on John Cockerill heat recovery steam generators installed since 2017 aboard a mobile gas compression vessel, currently operating offshore Africa.

These hot and cold inspections were entrusted by our client, a major player in natural gas transportation, so as to ensure optimal performance of the boilers. Our team conducted a full thermographic survey and inspected every critical component: casing, lines, diverter damper, heat exchangers, and internal structures.

John Cockerill engineered these HRSGs to guarantee stable water and steam flow even under vessel pitching and rolling —preventing dry-out and ensuring optimal heat transfer at sea. After eight years of operation in challenging offshore conditions, the results speak for themselves: the boilers remain in impeccable condition – a true testament to their robust design, durability, and reliability.
