CMI obtained order for the upgrade of the existing industrial water treatment facility of OAO Severstal, Russia

The Cherepovets Steel Mill, amongst the world’s largest integrated steel mills and part of the Russian Steel division of Severstal, one of the world’s leading steel and steel-related mining companies, has selected CMI for the engineering, procurement and construction of the upgrade of their industrial water treatment and recycling facility.
The upgraded facility will provide Severstal with a competitive advantage, by optimizing their water management processes, to cater to the needs of the customer’s process water quality and legal discharge regulations, helping this prestigious industrial company to better grasp the future of its industry: cleaner and more productive steel making processes, with lower environmental impact and greater economic performance.
CMI’s proven expertise in waste water treatment, offering optimum technologies, its experience in dealing with complex projects under tight schedule, and its ability to propose a very competitive commercial offer, were determining factors in winning this new contract.
As such, CMI not only guarantees the continuity of production during the installation of the new equipment, but also the adaption of the design to fit into the existing building, while ensuring reliability and high-level quality for the water treatment to be supplied. In order to meet the customer’s high quality and quantity water needs, CMI will provide a new filtering station and additional process water treatment equipment, using state-of-the-art technology, that will meet the latest environmental standards for emission levels in the customer’s final waste water discharge into rivers and lakes.
Operations of the plant is expected to begin in May 2017.
