CMI Group acquires Balteau
July 22nd 2014
On July 18th 2014, the CMI Group acquired Belgian company Balteau, a specialist in water intake, pumping, treatment and purifying. Up until now Balteau has been part of Dutch group Royal BAM. This operation enables CMI to further expand its offering of environmental solutions (which already covers the treatment of liquid, solid and gaseous industrial waste along with the energy efficiency of industrial installations), and to broaden its scope of activities towards public clients.
Balteau is a specialist in designing and realizing overall turnkey solutions in the domain of drinkable water and used water. It is based in Sprimont in the Liège region of Belgium.
Balteau is coming into CMI Industry, one of the four sectors of the CMI Group. Jean Jouet, President of CMI Industry: “The protection of the environment in general, and of water in particular, today represents major challenges at a worldwide level. The ambition of CMI is to play an active role in these domains, by developing an ever more complete offering of environmental solutions. We already provide industrialists with solutions for making their installations more efficient on the energy level, and for handling their waste, whether solid, liquid or gaseous. With the arrival of Balteau, we are broadening our range of solutions not just in water treatment, but we are also reaching out to other types of clients, in particular public clients. We wish the personnel of Balteau a warm welcome into our organization”.
Nico de Vries, President of the Board of the Royal BAM Group nv: “We are delighted to hand over the reins of Balteau to an industrialist with an ambitious project. The obvious synergies and the complementary nature of the offering of Balteau and the CMI Group are guarantees of success and of expansion of this activity both in Belgium and on the export market. Full speed ahead for Balteau under its new colours, those of the CMI Group”.
