Sludge treatment

sludge treatment machine

The treatment of used urban water involves creating purification sludge. And an increase in the volume of water to be treated naturally implies an increase in sludge generated. Reducing the volume of sludge and transforming it into usable products represents a major challenge for society. A challenge which is all the more complex as there are several factors, such as the origin and composition of the sludge along with its destination, which determine the treatment to be applied. To arrive at the solution, John Cockerill Environment has developed and made available different technical solutions:

  • the thickening and dehydration of sludge:
  • Digestion (for reducing the quantity and using the sludge for green energy via the production of bio-gas;
  • Thermal treatment of the sludge using Nesa Solution®.
